Description The Concertante Antiqued Cello in either the Stradivari or Montagnana pattern is an excellent step up cello for intermediate players. Made by Eastman Strings, it has a rich and powerful tone. The instrument is fitted with quality ebony fittings, a French Despiau bridge and set up in our workshop with Larsen Aurora strings. OPTIONS: Finetune pegs: Finetune pegs greatly facilitate tuning – this is an option you can choose over against traditional pegs. Strad pattern available in 3 sizes Montagnana available in 4/4 only Concertante Antiqued Cello (Stradivari or Montagnana): Hand carved highly figured maple and spruce with inlaid purfling. Hand applied spirit varnish with an antiqued aspect. Ebony fingerboard with ebony top-nut. Ebony Pegs. Fitted Endpin unit with steel spike and brass key. Metal alloy tailpiece. Fitted Despiau Bridge Instrument only Eastman Concertante Cello set-up by Caswells Strings | We don’t sell different levels of set-up – we believe every instrument should have a gold set-up as standard, not something you have to pay for! Instruments not properly set up can have a detrimental effect on the players progress, even leading to the player being put off for life. At Caswells we operate a strict policy of setting up every instrument, regardless of level, to exact standards and specifications. This includes cutting the bridge and top nut, setting the soundpost, and lubricating the pegs. Instruments are shipped with the bridges up.
